A recalcitrant whipped cream
To give my show a more sensual, sweet tone, I decided one winter afternoon to use whipped cream. This was very well received by my audience, who couldn’t wait to see what I was going to do with it. I used the cream for 2 minutes, then… Pow! The whipped cream bomb started spraying cream all over the place, except where I wanted to put it. The result: my computer, my face and even my hair were covered in the thick white liquid. While some onlookers were modestly supportive, the vast majority laughed. I took a few seconds to clean up the mess, apologized for the situation, and then resumed the show. As for the cream that had splashed onto my face, I decided to leave it as is. This made the show even more exciting and funny.
The flying duster
After some time performing with the same equipment, I decided to use some new props to offer my audience something new. From the list of objects available to me, I chose the duster. I felt it would give my show more sensuality. When I picked it up to use, the feathers started flying all over the room.
One of them tickled my nose, making me sneeze like crazy. I did it repeatedly. My fanclub laughed their heads off when they saw me remove this rebellious feather from my face. Eventually, I gave up on the feather duster idea, settling for chocolate. The show, which had been prepared from start to finish, ended up as an improvisation, much to the delight of my audience.
An unexpected visit
One day, I started a show having completely forgotten that I had invited a very close friend to my home. After about ten minutes, I heard the door open. I jumped up to look and who was there? My friend, not immediately aware of what was going on, let out a “hi there, tell me you’ve got the same charger as me!” Once she looked up and realized the extent of the damage, she immediately took 3 steps backwards and dashed into the next room. The incident having already happened, I took the time to explain why to my audience. Most of them found it funny. Since then, not a show has gone by without me being teased about it. What’s more, my friend has become a star of my shows, with audiences clamoring for her to come on stage. Today, it’s even become code for how long some of them have been following me, since the situation happened several years ago.
Oh, my God! My costume’s gone
For Halloween night, I decided to pull out all the stops! I put on a beautiful and evocative witch costume and started my show. Everything was going swimmingly when suddenly the zipper on my dress got stuck. I dexterously tried to open it, but was met with fierce resistance. At the risk of a dwindling audience, I resigned myself to continuing the show with the zipper stuck.
However, the spectators themselves were keen to help me, giving directions to get me out of the mess I’d gotten myself into. What started out as an unfortunate situation turned into a comedy sequence, with the many techniques suggested by my audience. After trying them all, I finally got the zipper back in place. However, I’ll never forget this Halloween show in a hurry.
The unstable chair
During a show of rarely equaled intensity, I decided to sit on a chair and spice up my performance. A little over a quarter of an hour into the show, I felt the chair creak. Caught up in the momentum of the show, I didn’t pay much attention to the little noise I’d just heard. Instead, I tried to keep my balance, but that was the wrong thing to do. The chair literally gave way under my weight, forcing me to the floor. Fortunately, I didn’t hurt myself, although my audience found the sequence funny. Together, we laughed at this incredible fall. From now on, I’ll be very careful with the chairs I use in my shows.
